–The Future of Executive Workspaces–
Okamura’s newly envisioned space, "We Labo", was conceived as a symbol of the company's growing commitment to creating lasting impact on society and the planet. Guided by the tagline “From Identity to We’dentity,”the space reflects Okamura’s core values—honoring tradition while forging a path toward the future. It includes a next-generation executive office that redefines the conventional concept of an executive floor.
Designed as an open environment where executives and employees can come together freely, We Labo serves as a living lab to explore and validate evolving workstyles. The curved lines drawn across the ceiling and floor remove both visual and psychological barriers, encouraging interaction among people. A ceiling made of metal mesh gently diffuses light, creating a warm and embracing sense of openness.
A striking installation made of steel—a material symbolic of Okamura’s early manufacturing history—was crafted in-house by skilled welders, showcasing their craftsmanship and serving as a symbolic centerpiece of the project.
From material selection and color planning to spatial zoning, every design decision was guided by a human-centered design philosophy. With themes of flexibility, freedom, and connection, We Labo aims to unlock individual creativity and initiative, offering a vision for the next-generation executive office—one that maximizes outcomes through co-creation.
