V-Stack House
Set on a wooded hillside on the edge of Heidelberg, the V-Stack House appears as a striking, sculptural figure within the landscape. Offset cubic volumes respond to the topography and carefully frame views of the Neckar and the city skyline.
The V-shaped structural supports lift the volume above the terrain and make the structural principle visible. They lend the house a sense of lightness and a clear constructive logic.
Horizontal board formwork in the exposed concrete emphasises the layering of the volumes and reinforces their calm, monolithic character. Generous openings frame the landscape, while precise cut-outs define sheltered outdoor spaces.
The internal organisation follows a clear hierarchy: retreat on the lower levels, openness and expansiveness on the upper floors. A pool integrated into the slope complements the composition and reinforces the connection between architecture and place.
