Plaines-du-Loup

The Plaines-du-Loup area, located in the north of the city of Lausanne, is being developed into an eco-neighbourhood. By 2034, energy-efficient housing for around 11,000 residents is set to be built. Between 2018 and 2024, two foundations and a building cooperative commissioned the construction of four buildings. Covering a total area of 17,000 square metres, the site comprises 149 flats, childcare facilities for infants and schoolchildren, and retail space. The buildings meet the Minergie-P standards and have also been certified as a 2000-watt site. To meet these high environmental standards, all external walls were constructed using Porotherm single-layer masonry. This provides excellent sound and thermal insulation and also ensures a comfortable indoor climate.
