The building plot is located in the Leipzig-Thonberg district and consists of several parcels of land, parcels 317, 318 and 306, with a total area of approximately 24,900 m².
The orientation of the school at the intersection of Prager-Straße and Philipp-Rosenthal-Straße, with its differentiated height development, marks the urban entrance to the city.

A biotope located at the intersection with its magnificent solitary trees has been largely preserved, secured and integrated into the overall design. A functionally coordinated juxtaposition of paved and unpaved areas characterises the future square-like entrance as well as the break and courtyard areas.

The open spaces are divided into three areas: school grounds, sports facilities and public ‘green spaces’. The design feature of ‘green cabinets’ as a recurring motif brings the planning area together into an independent unit that creates a sense of identity for the neighbourhood.

Rainwater falling on the property is completely absorbed on site. As part of the outdoor facility planning, all rainwater collected in the green schoolyard will be directed directly into the adjacent green spaces and infiltrated locally via the living soil layers. At the same time, it will be used to irrigate the vegetation planned there.
Access to the property for cars, deliveries, maintenance vehicles, fire engines and ambulances is exclusively via a shared access road (sports boarding school and school complex) from the south via Philipp-Rosenthal-Straße, which accommodates the necessary parking spaces for the new school building and the sports boarding school. The topographical design of the site's surfaces enables completely barrier-free access to the area and its buildings.
