Nomad Assembly is a changing and mobile landscape of artifacts designed to stimulate human interaction among the diverse communities gathered under the great roof of the Encants, at Plaça Glòries in Barcelona. Conceived as a temporary pavilion and installation for the MODEL – Festival d’Arquitectures de Barcelona, and commissioned by the Ajuntament de Barcelona and the Fundació Mies, the project was realized between May and June 2023 over a surface of 1,000 m² with a budget of €45,000 + VAT.
With the aim of activating new possibilities for democratic and alternative horizontal debates beyond the logic of the market, the project combines clusters of bright pink furniture—echoing the triangular geometry of the Encants roof—with three wiry, slender, and atmospheric structures. Together with two additional elements, these five components open, close, and move, evoking the surreal artifacts of the Garden of Earthly Delights and transforming the site into an enchanting, participatory environment that invites exploration, gathering, and collective exchange.
