The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 held in Barcelona is one of the largest events dedicated to architecture. It brings together architects, researchers, students, and institutions from across the globe. Plenary talks, lectures and debates, open forums, workshops, research presentations and public celebrations are held throughout the city from the iconic Three Chimneys turbine hall to major civic venues. The unique international gathering promotes dialogue, reflection and collaboration. Its goal is to help shape shared visions for the future of architecture and our built environment.
The Congress was convened by the International Union of Architects (UIA) and organized by the Higher Council of the Orders of Architects of Spain (CSCAE) and the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC). It coincides with Barcelona serving as the 2026 World Capital of Architecture.
