The wedge-shaped tower designed by Herzog & de Meuron for the SongEun Art and Cultural Foundation recently opened to the public in Seoul, complete with an exhibition on the Swiss architects. Jacques Herzog discusses the building and exhibition in a short film made by the firm.
Across 7-1/2 minutes, Herzog talks about the programming of the building, its monolithic yet "inviting" nature, the finish of the concrete, how they curated Herzog & de Meuron: Exploring SongEun Art Space (on display until November 20, 2021), and the sensory inspirations behind the building, among other things.
