Tokyo Dome Backyard Renewal

Flowing text, graphics and neon lighting were made to appear in a monochrome space to create an image of the Tokyo cityscape at night.
As the waiting room is a space where the users change each day while the set-up requires frequent adjustments, the project seeks to create a variable and durable environment that can respond to a wide variety of requests.
The basic design of the space is based on a monochrome finishing material, which makes it easy to emphasise each artist’s personal colour, while curtain rails and lighting duct rails are installed in a grid-like frame built into the ceiling, allowing each artist to adjust the space partitioning and lighting to their own preference.
The corridors are made of rough painted wood-cement boards that are less noticeable when scratched during loading and unloading, while rhythmic lighting on the ceiling and hovering neon sign room numbers provide a sense of excitement to the stage.
The entrance space combines lighting and graphics to create a space like a warp to the stage. The lighting can be programmed to show a variety of colours and movements, allowing the artists to customise and enjoy the space as they wish.
