Rinko Fire Station Tsukishima Substation

The Fire Sation Tsukishima Branch Office is redesigned and built within the site of Grand Marina Tokyo Park Tower Kachidoki Mid/South project, which is still located in that area.
The new design embodies a sense of safety and transparency as an infrastructure for not only the people brought together by the Grand Marina Tokyo Park Tower project, but also everyone in the local community.
The distinct façade with an arch echoing the Park Tower brings the dynamic lightness of a sail riding the wind.
The beautifully consistent tile pattern on the first-floor exterior gives the impression of fish scales. The varying tile texture provides both movement and depth while the wall lights up at night as well to convey the warmth of the building.
The layout places the space for fire-fighting training in an area visible from outside as a way to educate the public about these activities and create a foundation for a welcoming firehouse rooted in the local community.
