The special location on a hillside inspires the shape of the house and the organisation of the floor plan as a split-level residence. The pitch of the roof corresponds to the incline of the terrain. The living spaces are located on the upper floor and extend all the way to the roof. A gorgeous, high-ceilinged room opens onto a loggia on the valley side of the house with stunning views of the Linth Plain. Concrete dominates all aspects of the interior. When employed judiciously, the material creates a homey atmosphere. The proximity of the forest is reflected in the building façade, which is clad in wooden shingles in keeping with local tradition.
