Semi-Detached House Lörick

A single-family home was planned for a young couple in Düsseldorf’s left bank of the Rhine, which was to be built as a new building on an existing semi-detached house. If it has to submit to the strict restrictions of an outdated development plan on the outside, a space miracle is created inside that extends over three floors. Through a central ceiling opening on the ground floor, all rooms are visually and physically connected to each other. This measure is the decisive spatial element that turns a modest initial situation into something great.
