The "mietgestalten" Wildgarten residential building is a rental housing development, but as in a building group project, the owners, in this case the future tenants, work out the design of the common areas and the apartments in a collaborative planning process with the planners. With the help of Eva, a design assistance program developed by SWAP Architekten and Caramel Architekten, a wide range of possible floor plan layouts were developed in advance. These were then transferred to individually appropriated common areas and apartments during the collaborative planning process with tenants. Thus, in addition to the highly diversified common areas, 44 individual apartments were created that are also adaptable for future tenants due to their arrangement around a few vertical supply lines and supports. The apartments are divided into two houses, a high point house and a low long house with a shared roof terrace, which are connected to each other on the first floor by indoor and outdoor spaces that can be used collectively.
