Between new urban buildings and historic structures, centrally located on the Promenade, the lively green belt of the city centre, a new hot spot has been created with the Atlantic Hotel Münster. BRUMANN was commissioned as general contractor for the interior fit-out & FF&E for the new building with 224 rooms, ballroom, restaurant, sky bar, conference rooms, spa & wellness area. The design for the interior was created by OlufemiMoser from Munich, which was jointly optimised economically and functionally by the two offices during the execution planning and fit-out phase.
The seven-storey building was designed by Münster-based architects Kresings, who created a modern hotel with a light-coloured, curved three-dimensional façade and floor-to-ceiling windows all around, which quickly became a visual highlight in the surrounding area. A cubic roof terrace, which juts out over the ridge, provides a view across the promenade to the church towers and over the roofs of the city. The building received the international LOOP Design Award for its unique architectural concept.
The special magic of the location inspired OlufemiMoser to create an elegant, modern interior concept that combines classic Westphalian quotes and vibrant urbanity to create an eclectic mix of styles. The typical hallway of Westphalian courtyards served as a source of inspiration for the large, open-plan ground floor: filigree wooden constructions reminiscent of studwork divide the space into functional zones; and the open grill in the front-cooking restaurant of the ATLANTIC Grillroom is reminiscent of the typical hearth fire, around which the tables are grouped in a geometric pattern in front of red bricks. Combined with contemporary design furniture, a co-working zone and the solitary reception area, the result is a harmonious and innovative style ensemble.
The 224 rooms and suites impress with all the amenities of contemporary 4-star superior comfort: fine parquet flooring, natural materials and colour harmonies of earth tones and neutrals make them warm, relaxing hideaways. On the top floor, in addition to the 380 square metre "Engelsaal" with the latest event technology, the hotel offers another spectacular highlight: the ATLANTIC Skybar. Staged in an elegant ambience of dark blue velvet and shimmering brass details. An attraction that not only delights out-of-town guests, but also the people of Münster themselves, and has quickly become the city's new "in" location.
