The service building of the sports ground „Chöpfli“ is placed on the field between existing car park and forest and consists of two buildings, shifted to each other. This allows a reaction to the particularities of the situation. On the one hand the access from the car parking and the orientation to the playing fields are spatially articulated, on the other hand the level differences can be settled with the rear walls of the buildings. The pedestal unites the ensemble into one unit and creates two high quality outside spaces.

The canopies of the two building sections are defining a weather-protected area from which the different rooms can be accessed separately when needed. Four changing rooms with showers, a changing room for the referee and a technology room are integrated in the lower part, club room, toilets and storage in the higher part.

The choice of the materials and construction supports the spatial concept and points out the pragmatic use as a service building. The room dividing walls are built of wooden elements covered with wooden panels on the outside. They are protected by concrete, starting in the base, continuing over the walls and finishing on the roof. Consequently, the outside walls in concrete have no openings, skylights are filling the rooms with daylight.

The covering of the inside walls and ceilings consists of untreated OSB panels, the concrete floors are complemented by stoneware tiles in different colours for the shower rooms. The building is constructed as a certified low energy building with heat pump, thermal solar panels and comfort ventilation.
