Befitting its name, the 8-meter-tall Fractal Chapel “heavily relies on fractal patterns,” which were created through a partnership between scientists and designers at the University of Oregon/Fractals Research. (Photo © Paul Ott, courtesy of v2com)
Size of the Fractal Chapel, or Lukaskapelle, located in a state hospital in the Austrian city of Graz, designed by INNOCAD, and awarded World Interior of the Year at the 2025 World Architecture Festival: 35 m2 (377 sf)
INNOCAD writes: “The design is based on the latest neuroscience and environmental psychology research and integrates biophilic elements and fractal patterns, creating a peaceful and emotional refuge that enhances health and well-being through its stress-reducing effect.” (Photo © Paul Ott, courtesy of v2com)
