The IJhal is situated underneath the new Amsterdam Central Station local and regional bus station, directly connected to the existing transfer-corridors of the train station. The competition brief asked for an interior to house several high-end food based retailers, ranging from well known national concepts to so-called local heroes; high quality food retailers with a typical Amsterdam identity.
