Manno-town Kotonami Comprehensive Center
The site is located in the mountain area where the upper Doki River crosses the main area of the city of Manno. This river carved steep mountains and created preservations for agricultural water. The flat area was created in the hills and has been useful to use for rice fields. This site is one of slightly flat part of remains of these mountains and also in the border of two prefectures such as Kagawa and Tokushima.
In order to plan a facility in this community had to serve four different districts in the borders for the prefectures. This facility also includes government office, room for workshop, medical treatment offices for dental and health and some funerals are going to take in this place. This means the facility is going to be a non-stop busy running complex.
Since this area is depopulating, elementary schools were disappeared and kids are taking bus to the other school where few kilometers away. The ancestors planted a "school forest" so that they could eventually use it to rebuild the elementary school. The tree was managed without being used and able to utilize the tree. We believed that this tree wanted to be a part of the elementary school and we hope the power of this tree in this facility revitalizes the power to this community. We felt that this facility was completed like children’s voices still remain from the mountains.
