Hangzhou Citizen Center

The projectstoodout among 69 international programs and was implemented. Hangzhou Citizen Center is a mega block structure composed of six 100-meter high-rises and four podium buildings. It strenches out around the 400-square-meter super block, and is located on the city axis with the West Lake to the north and Qiantang River to the south. The high-rises are connected atthe height of 90m. As the West Lake is the center of Hangzhou, the Citizen’s Center is oriented around an open garden. Metaphysically speaking, ‘human’ will be the center of architecture and even of the city. Therefore it forms an ‘isostructural’ spatial relationship with the old town.
