Cuatrecasas Barcelona
Located in the 22@ district, at the intersection of Diagonal and Roc Boronat, the Cuatrecasas headquarters in Barcelona rises as a pure and minimalist shape. Standing 72 meters high, it accommodates more than 1.000 people with a functional program distributed across two towers of 11 and 18 floors, respectively.
Two volumes are connected by a triple-height glazed atrium that allows natural light to flood the interior while offering cross views from the two main entrances.
The morphology of the west tower creates a distinctive gesture on the seventh floor, forming a significant cantilever over the pedestrian passage and giving rise to a landscaped roof terrace.
The façade system is modular, featuring a grid of aluminum mullions and louvers designed with a dual purpose: interior privacy, enhanced through the use of reflective glass in vision areas, and solar protection, resulting in a homogeneous second skin that envelops the building. In the west tower, this skin disappears above the seventh floor, once interior privacy is ensured, allowing a more transparent view toward the sea and across the city.
The structure consists primarily of a solid reinforced concrete core containing restrooms, stairwells, elevators and a lightweight steel framework for the cantilevered body, balancing the structural load and helping reduce the depth of the floor slab.
The interior design employs high-quality materials and modular systems for furniture and partitions, enabling the creation of more flexible spaces.
