Museum of the Future

The Museum of the Future in Dubai was less a conventional architectural commission for me and more a photographic translation of a highly staged environment. In collaboration with Atelier Brückner, the focus was not on pure documentation, but on making a constructed vision of the future visually legible.

The exterior architecture is already extremely present: its iconic, sculptural form with the calligraphic façade reads like a built image of the future. My approach was to refine this strong gesture—rather than amplifying it, I aimed to translate it into clear, calm compositions.

Inside, this challenge continues. The immersive, media-driven spaces are designed for movement and sensory intensity. By reducing, emptying, and quieting these environments, I aim to reveal their spatial structure and atmosphere. In doing so, the work shifts from documentation toward interpretation: staging becomes clarity, and movement turns into stillness.

The result is a perspective on the museum as an autonomous architectural vision—oscillating between reality and fiction—while directly connecting to my broader practice of detaching spaces from their intended use and transforming them into a timeless, almost abstract state.
