Karl Lagerfeld Villas

As the architects and interior designers of this project, we were entrusted with transforming the legendary vision of an icon into a living experience—one that embodies sophistication, innovation, and timeless style. These residences are an architectural tribute, a synthesis of fashion, art, and design that encapsulates Karl’s enduring legacy. Love him or not, Lagerfeld’s influence is undeniable, and this project ensures his vision endures in a space as bold and refined as the man himself.
Inspired by his affinity for 18th-century architecture and Art Deco elements, the villas reinterpret historical proportions through a modern lens. The design follows a structured hierarchy—with floor heights decreasing as they ascend—creating a sense of balance and weight that anchors the space. The grand arrival sequence draws from Karl Maison’s elevated plinth and archway, establishing an entry experience that exudes both sophistication and openness.
Central to the theme is a cross-cultural fusion that embodies his global vision. The villas signify the next chapter in his illustrious journey, merging his sophisticated sense of French savoir-vivre with the vibrant spirit of the UAE. This synthesis celebrates both cultures, weaving together Lagerfeld’s diverse interests in literature, history, photography, art, and music into a rich, immersive environment.
At the heart of the design is the catwalk—a defining feature inspired by Lagerfeld’s legendary shows. Each villa opens onto a personal runway, with experience zones flanking either side and culminating in a spiralling staircase that serves as a sculptural focal point.
Sustainability is integral to the design, aligning with the Karl Cares initiative. Passive cooling strategies, energy-efficient systems, and eco-conscious minimize environmental impact while enhancing the living experience. Natural ventilation and biophilic elements create a seamless connection with the surroundings.
