Habibeh Madjdabadi is a prominent Iranian architect recognized for her innovative ideas that prioritize the role of culture and geographical context in her designs. Her work has gained widespread recognition from both local and international platforms, reflecting her exploratory approach that transcends architectural boundaries and extends into conceptual art and design.

She approaches materials from a poetic perspective, emphasizing their natural qualities and their interaction with the human body through artisanal methods. Madjdabadi began her professional career in 2003 by establishing her design studio in Tehran after winning first prize in a competition to restore a historical building from the Zand dynasty. Since then, she has received numerous accolades, including being shortlisted for the Aga Khan Award in 2016, the Worldwide Brick Award in 2014, and the Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction Award in 2019.

Madjdabadi was featured in “100 Women Architects in Practice,” a RIBA publication highlighting remarkable women architects worldwide. The selection was conducted by Dezeen Magazine and Pratt Institute School of Architecture. This honor solidifies her position as one of the most influential and pioneering figures in the global architecture scene. She also actively contributes to the international architectural community through various engagements, including her role as an international juror.
