Critical Mass: Projects Review 2026
Projects Review 2026 showcases work from students throughout the AA and celebrates the achievements of the 2025–26 academic year. The exhibition presents hundreds of projects by students from every unit and programme within the school, which together document the plurality of agendas explored, interests developed and approaches tested over the past three terms.
Curatorial Statement:
A collection of objects, of people, of ideas; a movement with sufficient momentum or fissile material to start a chain reaction. This is what, and where, we are in June 2026.
At a moment of particular unpredictability we are often careening, hopefully dancing, through the voices and projects that have shaped this past year. They are collected here together – part ordered, part simply assembled – as a reflection of the character of the school, whose community does not share a singular agenda, direction or purpose.
We are a critical mass, shaping projects from what may seem like discontinuous fragments, and navigating ballooning quantities of information, data and knowledge. We operate in a volatile, highly charged creative state of fragile consensus.
At a moment like now, there is no other way to be.
