Tahari Residence

Elie Tahari, the fashion designer behind his namesake brand, worked with The Turett Collaborative (TTC) to design his Central Park West residence in New York City as a sanctuary above the city. The goal was to create a receptive, peaceful, and welcoming home for Tahari and his children. What began as two adjacent units in an esteemed building near Central Park was combined into a single full-floor residence through a complete residential renovation.

Tahari’s engagement with aesthetics and enduring style informs the apartment from the moment of arrival. The elevator hall is flanked by two solid walnut pivot doors made from repurposed wood that once served as tables in a Tahari showroom. To the right, the living room opens toward a vast terrace. To the left, a more private wing leads to bedroom suites for family and guests.

In the living room, TTC paired unique mid-century antiques with iconic pieces, including a bespoke Vladimir Kagan sofa, and centered the space beneath a chain-draped fixture designed by Lindsay Adelman specifically for the project. White walls support an understated palette and a predominantly blue art collection. A transitional bar area buffers the living and dining rooms, and a Valcucine kitchen is designed for flexibility, including an optional scrim that can partition the dining area when hosting.

On the terrace, TTC collaborated with Swiss landscape artist Enzo Enea to create a secret garden with five sitting areas and multiple entrances back indoors. The result is a full-floor home of generous scale that balances privacy, openness, and everyday comfort for family life.
