One Za’abeel

The One Za’abeel Show Apartment was conceived as an interior representation of elevated urban living within one of Dubai’s most prominent mixed-use developments. Commissioned to reflect the contemporary grandeur of the building, the project was designed to communicate a lifestyle narrative for prospective residents rather than respond to a specific end user.

Sneha Divias Atelier approached the apartment as an exploration of atmosphere, proportion, and material expression. The interior was envisioned as an urban retreat that balances a sense of drama with comfort, offering a spatial experience aligned with the expectations of design-conscious, well-travelled residents. Rather than conforming to prevailing super-luxury interiors, the design introduces a more layered and expressive language.

The spatial organisation emphasises openness and visual connection. The living area is shaped around expansive views and a double-height ceiling, allowing natural light to define the core of the apartment. A subtle dialogue between softness and structure unfolds through the juxtaposition of velvet textiles with marble, brass, and wood surfaces, creating depth without excess.

The dining area is conceived as a focal point for social gatherings, anchored by a marble dining table and sculptural pendant lighting. Freestanding brass units provide a permeable division between living and dining spaces, maintaining openness while introducing rhythm and articulation. Throughout the apartment, furniture selections contribute to a sense of continuity and refinement.

Private spaces are treated with greater intimacy. The master bedroom adopts a calmer material palette, complemented by sculptural elements and reflective surfaces that enhance spatial depth. The children’s room introduces a lighter, more playful tone while maintaining simplicity and coherence with the overall design language.
Materiality plays a central role in establishing the apartment’s atmosphere. Marble, brass, wood, and glass are combined with silk carpets, linen curtains, and textured soft furnishings to create a composed yet tactile interior. Every element was selected to reinforce a sense of quiet opulence rather than overt display.

Executed within a condensed two-week timeframe, the project required precise coordination in the procurement and installation of furniture, accessories, and finishes. The resulting interior presents a composed and polished environment that positions the apartment as a tranquil counterpoint to the intensity of city life, while remaining closely connected to its iconic urban context.
