House on a slope

Brussel, Belgique
Visualisation © Adriaan Claerhout

This project thoughtfully responds to the site’s natural topography, resulting in a design that engages perfectly with the relatively steep slope. At the rear of the house, an intimate outdoor area was created by locally lowering the terrain, offering both shelter and a strong connection to the surroundings.

Simple materials such as timber boards, cast concrete, and patinated red copper lend a restrained yet characterful unity to the design. The home’s geometric rectangular form is softened by organic curves in the outdoor spaces, creating a beautiful harmony between the built and natural environment.
