Gate of Tihany
Tihany, Hongrie
The complex is located on the shores of Lake Balaton, next to the ferry port of the Tihany peninsula. The sheltered space between the boomerang-shaped apartment buildings facing each other is a counterpoint to the busy main road. The ground floor shops and cafés open onto the arcade between the two buildings. The buildings have a strong character with filigree reinforced concrete terrace slabs running around each level. The loggias are shaded by retractable screen blinds.
