Last summer Broad Sustainable Building (BSB) boasted they could build the world's tallest tower (10 meters higher than the Burj Khalifa) in only 90 days. This statement followed the Chinese company's erection of a 30-story hotel in 15 days in December 2011. The latest news from BSB is that they will be breaking ground on the 838-meter (2,750-foot) "Sky City" tower in China's Hunan Province in June, with a seven-month construction timeframe—longer than originally boasted but still a fraction of the time required to build any tall building. BSB's announcement comes after acquiring all the needed approvals to start construction, described as arduous due to the fact the tower would be the world's tallest prefab building, if not the tallest overall.
