Port Museum Trieste
Port Museum Trieste - Outdoor spaces, Italia
Inside the Old Port of Trieste the Port Authority established the museum center of the port inside two recovered buildings: the Hydrodynamic Power Station and the Power Converter Substation. The exhibition design of the Hydrodynamic Power Station is concentrated in the central area of the building setting a device made of metal frames and infill iron sheets painted. This device, recovering the spatiality original battery of boilers, sets several display case windows in the articulation of the thickness of the walls. Inside the Power Converter Substation a custom-designed fixed furniture in oak, re-proposes some spatial rules in close interaction with the existing elements of the building and the original seriality of the machinery housed therein, re – giving meaning to the spaces.
