Located on the edge of a forest, this elegant Art Deco-style estate was completed in 1924 for the Grieder family. After almost a century of use, the property required a thorough renovation. During the process, the building became listed which inspired a sensitive, innovative design approach honouring the historical identity of the building.

The architectural transformation focused on reinterpreting the original structure and harmonising the building with contemporary residential needs. The ground floor, largely a fragmented and closed space, was liberated by removing all internal walls. Metal structures replace the load-bearing walls and is visibly integrated into the ceiling. This intervention creates a subtle dialogue between the new intervention and the historic cassette ceiling of the adjoining salon.

The new floor plan creates an open, flowing living space that houses several functions, including a dining area with fireplace, a front and back kitchen, a bar and a spacious library. New window openings connect the interior to the surrounding gardens, creating an interplay of light, views and space.

On the first floor , the original loggia was incorporated into a master suite. This large suite contains two dressing rooms and a generous bathroom. Here too the views of the surrounding countryside and distant mountain silhouettes take centre stage. Historical elements are subtly combined with modern touches, resulting in a serene atmosphere.

The top floor was redesigned to accommodate a family lounge, office and guest bedrooms and bathrooms.

When it comes to the materialisation, the design combines minimalist interventions with a timeless aesthetic, interspersed with art deco details and twenties elements. Meticulously selected natural stones, warm woods, and custom-made metal accents provide a sense of authenticity. Together with a range of bespoke designed furniture pieces and accessories, the design provides a new narrative to the building.
