Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary
Ontario, Canada
Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary is a dual-species animal shelter located in Canada, designed to redefine how care environments can feel. The architecture balances functionality with emotional warmth, using natural materials such as corten steel, stone, and wood to evoke a sense of safety and dignity. A central sunken lobby connects them and introduces natural light into the lower level, which hosts public and educational functions. Each animal area is tailored to species-specific needs: dogs have direct access to outdoor yards; horses are provided with operable windows.
