David Hotson received his Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo in Ontario Canada and a Master of Architecture from Yale University. In his second year at Yale, David was selected by the faculty to represent Yale in the national competition for the Skidmore Owings and Merrill Foundation Traveling fellowship. At the jury the following spring David was one of three graduate students nationwide to be awarded the annual Skidmore Owings and Merrill Traveling Fellowship, which funded a year of travel in Mediterranean Europe, Africa and the Middle East. After returning from these travels and completing his degree, David moved to New York and qualified for his professional license, and established his private practice shortly thereafter.
