Y Terrace
Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Japan
A cooperative housing project comprising three stories above ground and one below, accommodating a total of five units.
Situated in one of the most serene residential districts in central Tokyo, the building enjoys a northern frontage facing a verdant park.
The rooftop, shaped by setback regulations into a diagonally cut form, has been landscaped to extend the greenery upward—creating a seamless continuity between the park’s foliage and the rooftop garden.
Rather than merely framing the park as a visual backdrop, the design invites residents to experience it spatially, composing a narrative environment where interior and exterior interweave in three dimensions.
