The Flat of a Double Layered Window

This is a housing complex facing Kannana-dori, where cars drive by day and night. We wanted to create a building that would protect the living environment from the street and at the same time contribute to the urban environment.
We built another big wall outside the exterior walls of the units, which form a wild goose formation around the site. The gap between the windows of the dwelling and the holes in the big wall on the outside visually blocks the back of cars driving on the road, and protects the living environment.
The big wall will be finished with soft plastering that has slight sound absorbing properties. It's difficult that just only this architecture change the environment of Kannana-dori, by using such sound-absorbent materials, it could make the city a little quieter.
This one big wall is a shell that protects the living environment and becomes a model for changing the city environment.
