Shibuya-ku, Tomigaya, Japan
The area surrounding the site was a dairy farm in the early Showa period. The area was used as a production site to supply fresh milk to the city center as the westernization of lifestyles progressed. Later, the land was converted to residential land, and the gently sloping site became a residential area with large lots and lush greenery. The design was developed with this context in mind, exploring the responsive relationship with the surrounding area, such as the difference in elevation and the lack of line of sight.
