Tempio del Silenzio
Torrenieri, Italy
Temple of Silence is an enclosure of light and shadow built with a few primary elements: thresholds, walls, cuts and voids. The sequence organizes the passage from the outside into a condition of quiet through compression and release. Matter is not an effect: it is structure that “orders” weight until it appears light. The project measures time through shadow and the distance between planes.
