Restaurant Limmathof

The restaurant of the integrative institution „Stiftung Arbeitskette“ in in the popular area Kreis 5 in Zurich had to struggle with the gentrification of the neighbourhood and the growing competition in the gastronomy scene. Through a deep analysis in cooperation with the gastronomy consultancy "Suited & Booted", it became clear that the restaurant would have to make the step from a daytime restaurant to a full-day operation in order to exist. The stiff ambience had to be dissolved and the atmosphere of a local pub and café needed to be created. Pfeffermint therefore added a bar and lounge area to the interior to create a new cosiness. The white tablecloths have disappeared and made room for simple wooden tables. A harmonious colour concept peppered with selected accessories makes the establishment accessible to everyone. The simple yet tasty kitchen, which is manageable in the processes of an integrative business, could thus be retained and the matching atmosphere is reflected in the interior design. In retrospect, the repositioning has worked as sales have increased.
