The former school grounds, with both its central location and size, offers the chance of a decade for the town of Grieskirchen. The potential for inner-city growth on the site hides the concrete possibility of the creation of a new neighborhood.
A carefully woven fabric, the design is actually a loose perimeter block structure which communicates with the four very different sides of the area. It is porous but also forms a defined and protected inner courtyard.
The neighborhood on the Trattnach river is geared towards families, singles and couples as well as elderly people who want the combined qualities of “rural individuality” and urban living.
