The quotation is from Lian Po and Lin Xiangru, Shi Ji (Historical Records). Paper is material and media, while war is the content carried by the media.
Literally, it means talking about wars on paper, while metaphorically, it means no matter how tactics are nicely made, they cannot be testified on paper. Theories on paper do not equal reality. The dual meaning of this quotation is the inspiration of our design and the momentum of this experiment.
Artificial stone is similar to concrete in plasticity and solidification process. We wonder whether it can stand on ground like thin crepe paper while looks soft but in certain shape, whether it can serve as a real battle filed where smart and flexible multi-media tools can have a war on it. Paper war may not be paper war after all.
