This office and commercial building lies in Munich’s historical centre. A particularity of the building site - a “bend” in the street affects the block edge structure of the building - was the fundamental inspiration for the overall design. A relief of horizontal ridges takes up the slanted outer wall and the various window shapes of the neighbouring buildings. The building appears chiselled out of the self-supporting in-situ concrete; an impression which is underlined by the surface structures of the material - ranging from smooth to bush-hammered and nidged. Harmonious proportions in this very narrow street view are achieved by having the windows become shorter the further they are up the building. The bronze hues of the window frames and fall protection railings match the sand coloured concrete façade.
The main entrance on the street provides access only to the three retail storeys. The offices are accessed through a passageway in the neighbouring building.
