Multi-Generational House Kreis 6
Zürich, Switzerland
The client wanted a house in which multiple generations of the family can live together and alongside each other. This required a reorganization of the main apartment in connection with the attic and garden apartments. The existing staircase was removed to create space. The new staircase is located in the street-facing extension along with an elevator, enabling barrier-free access to all floors. The additional usable space created in this way allowed the plot to be maximized.
An additional basement for technical equipment frees up space in the existing basement, allowing the layout of the garden apartment to be reorganized. The high flexibility of use enables future generations to adapt the house to their needs.
To meet today’s energy standards, a complete renovation of the building envelope was carried out, and the building services were updated to the latest standards.
