Marmeria
Sacile, Italy
The Marmeria project was born from the desire to transform an old abandoned marmeria into a contemporary work hub founded on sharing and collaboration. The redevelopment of the former industrial building becomes an urban regeneration strategy: the existing warehouse is reinterpreted as a large, bright greenhouse that houses prefabricated wooden management modules resting on the original floor without new foundations.
The demolition of some perimeter closures, replaced by polycarbonate walls, and the transformation of the doors into large openings create a protected, flexible interior-exterior environment in direct dialogue with the garden. A focus on sustainability guides every choice: low-impact materials, efficient systems, mechanical ventilation, accurate insulation, and a photovoltaic system that makes the entire complex self-sufficient.

The large square becomes a stable lawn rich in biodiversity, while the common spaces foster the creation of a multidisciplinary professional community. The Marmeria is thus an open, constantly evolving place, capable of hosting events and initiatives that connect work, the territory, and the community.
