MEISSL Architects acted as local architect for Green Spa Hotel MalisGarten by Matteo Thun. Everything started with Christina Binder-Egger and Reinhard Binder‘s great vision: a hotel made entirely of wood. The experts at Binderholz Bausysteme GmbH then implemented the ideas in terms of structural engineering whereas MEISSL Architects coordinated everybody involved. Despite the extremely short period for completion MEISSL Architects managed the first 5-storey hotel made entirely of solid wood to be finished just in time. “The flexibility in designing, the short construction time and the ecological advantages signal a successful future for wood as a building material”, says architect Alexander Meissl.
