Sustainable urban transformation project at a former factory site in Munich.
A sustainable urban quarter is being built near Munich's East Station. The district has a rich history, from the production of Zündapp motorcycles in the 1950’s to MediaWorks start-up center with 100 media companies in the 1990’s. The existing factory buildings are being renovated and expanded with new buildings and green open spaces. The renovated portions feature timber frame construction, giving the renovation a unique appearance. The playful façade design creates a heterogeneous look, giving each part of the building its own visual identity.
