Casa Xurigué is the renovation of a “loft-no-loft” apartment on Carrer Parlament in Barcelona, located in one of the earliest buildings of the Cerdà Eixample, originally built in 1868 by Pau Martorell. The project transforms a fragmented 80 m² layout into a continuous and flexible living space, balancing openness and intimacy.
The interior is conceived as a neutral, light-filled canvas defined by patios and a central load-bearing wall. Within this void, a series of custom-designed “(im)moveables”—fixed furniture elements with sinuous forms—organize the program, define rooms, and create circular paths. Combining cream tones, pink marble, stained cedar, and stainless steel, these elements activate the space while allowing it to remain fluid, adaptable, and spatially rich.
