A breathtaking view of Lake Constance and the mountain landscape plus a triangular plot of land on a slope – that was the situation with which Berktold Weber Architekten from Dornbirn were presented when planning this family home on the edge of a small village. The result was clear-cut, sustainable architecture. "There is a separate entrance on each level, and at a later stage the house can be divided into two units," explains architect Helena Weber. The modern, detailed prefabricated wooden building was positioned with its rather closed rear side towards the mountain. To the front, facing the village, it opens up with a generous glass facade. The house combines the latest, energy-efficient building technology with the use of regional materials such as soaped silver fir and natural Schwarzachtobler stone. Concrete elements along with interior fixtures kept mainly in black and white complete the harmonious interplay between materials and give the rooms a calm and – in the best sense of the word – reserved appearance. A total of 74 Nimbus Modul R 36 luminaires were integrated in the house's BUS system. Installed both indoors and outdoors, they complement the overall aesthetic impression perfectly. Architects, specialist planners and building owners opt for these luminaires because of their "discreet appearance, good technical qualities, consistent design and versatility."
