With increased demand from travellers for overnight accommodation, Hilton Munich Airport commissioned JOI-Design to develop a creative concept for the guestrooms in its new annex.

The result is a “Mountain Hub”. Inspired by the nearby Bavarian Alps, the studio has created a contemporary-yet-cosy design balancing the tranquillity of nature with comfortable luxury and refined details. This “hub” provides sanctuary for the many international business guests seeking a night’s rest before early-morning flights to their next destinations.

The round, freestanding table brings flexibility and an increased sense of space versus the standard desk affixed to a wall. Its multifunctional capabilities respond to guests’ wishes to personalise their environment whether working, eating, reading or enjoying a conversation.

Although each room incorporates advanced technologies of the highest standard, these features remain discreet so that the comforting connection with Bavarian nature is emphasised. Bespoke, textural artwork and full-height windows pique guests’ curiosity and encourage their minds to ponder and dream.
