High-end shopping – The business park Mülheim-Kärlich near Koblenz belongs to the largest retail parks in Germany. The area has more than 300 companies on 230 hectares. The owner German Retail Box Funds wants to develop the area further according the a master plan which was co-written by .bieker AG. The goal is to present high-end products in a high-end surrounding and thereby improving the quality of the area.
The new center will develop around a larger area alongside Industriestraße. The Hilfiger outlet store which opened at the end of 2014 is already the second successful refurbishment and a convincing example for the master plan.
Hilfiger Outlet Store – Hilfiger occupies one of two units of a further refurbishment project by .bieker in Mülheim-Kärlich. The existing building was divided and now has two new entrance cubes with large glass windows. The high cubes mark the entries to the shops and make the 1.000 sq.m. retail space seem lighter and more attractive.
A continuous window front combines the two surfaces. A brownish-red brick facade with dark window profiles, the high ceilings and the lighting underline the significance of the outlet store.
