The roof structure consists of a suspended cable net with elevated steel trusses. The perimeter compression ring is supported by 72 inclined concrete columns. Its waving is 12m from the lowest to the highest point of the roof. The total cantilever of the roof to the inside is about 60m. The top of the roof is covered with glazing (37,000 m², ~9000 single panes). The rear portion is applied with enamelled panes, whereas an inner ring remains clear, to provide a smooth transition from roof to sky. In addition the lower part of the structure is applied with a second layer of cladding: The cable net is covered by a mesh membrane (35,000 m²), which provides a calm and plain surface visible from underneath.
