Ciampore

The redevelopment of Ciampore Park in Val di Croda draws inspiration from the moltrin, the ancient circular stone enclosure used by shepherds. The new landscape is organised around this archetypal form: low dry stone walls define small islands with tables and fire pits, creating convivial spaces that interact with the natural slopes of the terrain. A stone path connects the entrances, passing a large monolithic porphyry wash house along the way, a new place to stop and socialise.

The project culminates in the multi-purpose building: a large wooden canopy that houses three wood-clad volumes dedicated to a bar, classroom, services and bicycle area. The simple but articulated composition creates views, passageways and a large portico opening onto the park. The canopy becomes a hub of activity and a place to observe the landscape; when it rains, the rhythm of the water dripping onto the lawn introduces an almost meditative dimension.
